    Close to downtown, this family owned and operated gem is a "must do" if you're looking for a quality meal, and a super  friendly dining experience with a local flavor in Nanaimo. Specializing in predominantly Italian dishes, New York Style Pizza & Pasta does not fail to impress in atmosphere and service, and they are not at all opposed to special requests (within reason).  Dining is often accompanied by live entertainment (usually a pianist) which provides a favorable background for enjoyable conversation. Also featuring a simple yet delicious dessert menu and a fun street side ice cream parlor during summer months.

    Waitress was nice..we both ordered Chicken pasta Penne. When it arrived I could not see any Chicken..lol. Asked waitress if it was the Chicken penne, she said yes. My wife and I detected no Chicken whatsoever. But the pasta was cooked perfectly. Waitress apologised at reception when we paid our bill sayin they forgot the Chicken.,and gave us 2  $2 off coupons for next time.

    Okay, so the quality of the toppings was good, but the crust was very poor for the price point on this pizza. Not sure why they'd call it New York Pizza with such a thick crust. I believe they have a thin crust option that I would try with if I ever wanted to spend that much on pizza again. You'd think the thinner crust would be the default option when you call it New York pizza. Maybe they should ask if you want thin or thick crust when ordering. Friendly staff and fast service
